Imperfection the New Perfection

People often mention each others flaws, and often times it hurts. I'm not gonna lie, it hurts when someone nags at me and talks about all my flaws. But what's important to know is that NOBODY is perfect, and that's part of who each and everyone is as a person. This may sound weird but your flaws are part of your identity of who you are as a person in this world. Like put it this way, if everyone were "superhumans" the world would be such a boring place. You wouldn't have anything to correct or even do. Part of what we do is try to fix those imperfections as humans, but the list of flaws is endless. There will always be something that you aren't necessarily good at, like for example for me I'll admit that I am not very sensitive which I often think is bad, because of I never really know how it feels to be sensitive and some might say I'm not very empathetic. Things like this are hard to change, and only recently have I stopped bottling up all my emotions trying to pretend as if I'm insensitive and thick skinned. I found that now I can understand people better because of knowing what it feels like to be hurt and expressing it. Another way to put fixing our imperfections is to think of them as goals. Like don't deny it, when you achieve a goal you set there isn't a better feeling in the world. They only word I can really use to describe it is "Epic" yes I know cliche and corny once again. But back to the topic at hand, don't be afraid to admit your flaws, and if someone nags you about it just let them ramble on and ignore them, eventually they'll get bored of not getting the reaction they look for. But the bottom line is that, everyone is perfect and imperfect in there own way! There will always be something out there that you have talent in whether it be sports or something as simple as math. Finally keep this in mind You WILL Always have someone out there that thinks your perfect to them. :3

  1. Wow Eric. To be honest your blog is one of my favorite blogs. You constantly are putting up post that are meaningful, from the heart and are all true. In your post you state that you think your not the most sensitive person, you may think that but if you look at all your blog posts they are all written with soo much feeling. I think that it just depends on you. I see where you are coming from with this post. We all have those couple of things we don't like about our selfs. Like me, I scream a lot when I get scared. We all know that :). But sometimes I can't help it so I don't let it bother me.
Keep writing Eric, can't wait to see the next post.

  2. You have such deep and thoughtful posts. I didn't know that about you :P
I can totally relate to your blog post and it does make me feel better about myself and my flaws.
And when you told us to think of our imperfection as goals, well, that was a brilliant thought.
Like my dad always says "Keep the people who point out your flaws close to you, they can help you aim on what you want to make perfect and in the end, they help you succeed in life"
